Hello! Right now you’re reading “The Creator Confidential”, a blog where famous YouTubers share their stories and tips they have for growing a YouTube channel. Today’s post is something special and part of a series called “YouTube from the Perspective of a Small Channel”. In this series, small YouTube channels share their successes and struggles, how they got their first subscribers, why they started, and more! If you want to be featured, you can send me an email (thecreatorconfidential@gmail.com) or DM me on Instagram (@thecreatorconfidential). Over the past week, I had the pleasure of interviewing Tristan, and here is the finished result. Enjoy!
Introduce yourself!
Hi! My name is Tristan Chiappetta. I’m a small YouTuber with over 110+ subscribers on YouTube. My YouTube channel is called Tristan Chiappetta. My content consists of YouTube Advice, Productivity Tips, & Life and Wellness. I started YouTube over a year ago because video creation and social media had always been one of my biggest passions. Some of my favourite YouTubers that inspire me that I like to watch are: Vanessa Lau, Annie Dubé, Erika Diane, Niki and Gabi, & much more.
How did you, personally, become more integrated with and interact more with the YouTube community/fellow YouTubers?
My ways of interacting with fellow YouTubers are by joining Instagram group chats, Facebook Groups, & much more. I got my first few subscribers by merely staying consistent with my posting. I personally tried to stay away from bots and sub for sub.
Do you have any apps that helped you a lot with filming and editing your videos?
One of my favourite apps that I use to edit my videos with is Kinemaster Pro. Since I personally edit on my phone, this app has been a life saver.
What inspires you to keep making videos?
What inspires me to keep making videos is the thought of knowing I have an audience that is sticking by my side and also having the goal of turning this into a full time job.
What is the best and worst thing about YouTube for you?
In my opinion, the best thing about YouTube is to be able to consistently do something you love. The worst thing about YouTube is the toxicity the platform can have at times.
How do you balance school with your channel?
A tip I use to balance school with YouTube is an app called Asana. With this app, I'm able to plan out my schedule and videos so that I'm able to stay on track.
What types of struggles do you go through as a small YouTuber? Do you have any advice for other small channels on how to resolve these issues?
Some of the struggles I go through as a small YouTuber are:
- Feeling unmotivated at times.
- Not feeling inspired and having a loss of ideas.
A tip that works for me to resolve these issues is being around nature because it really puts me in a calm and intrigued mood.
What are your hopes for the future of your channel? What will your channel look like 2-10 years from now?
My goal for my channel 5 years from now is to hopefully be fully monetized and maybe branch out and create other income sources to make this my full time job.
What's your favorite video on your channel? Why?
One of my favorite videos on my channel is my Q&A video because I felt I was the most real with my subscribers than I've ever been.
Finally, why should people subscribe to your channel (why is it unique)?
I think people should subscribe to my channel if they want some quality Productivity and Mindset tips, learn about Life and Wellness, and some Youtube Advice for small YouTubers from a small YouTuber. I personally think my channel is unique because I try to keep my content and my presence relatable to the struggles people are facing daily in life.
